Google Voice Search spams Recent App list

AC Question

I just upgraded my phone to a Moto X Play running Marshmallow and boy, am I ever enjoying it! It has the horsepower and battery life to leave "OK Google" detection activated all day. I'm now using Google Voice Search on a regular basis.

One annoyance, though: every time I use Google Voice Search, it leaves a new instance in the Recent Apps list. Scrolling through the list, I find just about as many Google windows as other apps. How can I force new Google Voice Searches instances to simply replace the existing one in the Recent Apps list?
