Activating on verizon

I'm looking to picked up a new Moto X pure Edition tomorrow morning. I'm on Verizon and smashed my screen on my LG G3. I never noticed the SIM card in my phone and I pulled out the SD card and couldn't find one. Is this something I will have to have in order to activate? If so can I get one from Verizon?

Yeah you can just go to a Verizon store and they should be able to give you a new SIM.

I bought my Moto X PE today at Best Buy & activated at the local Corporate VZW store. They supplied me with a new Nano SIM and didn't charge me a dime. They said since it was a paid for device, it wasn't an activation ($20), but a device swap. Works for me.
