OK, here is the skinny. I've been through a ton of chargers and I've verified these results. With standard USB-A to USB-C chargers, you can get a maximum of 2.4A, which will not trigger the "turbo charging" notification. Moto mod battery packs will charge, but the charging notification for the battery mod may not show it is charging. (It does.) If you have a USB-C to USB-C charger that can deliver 3A or more (I have a Cheotech wall charger that meets this spec) you can get the moto mod battery to show a charge notification properly, and can get a more rapid charge. With the Moto wall wart charger, you can get up to 5.4A charge, which is extremely quick. BTW the car charger is 3A as well, and will trigger the "turbo charging" notification. So if you want a portable rapid charger, look for a 3A USB-C to UB-C charger. The USB-A to C chargers are generally limited to 2.4 A. These will work but are slower and may give misleading charging notifications for battery mods (but they will work).

2.4a is pretty quick, but 5.4a... Wow.

    Thanks for the info!

I don't plug my stuff into a computer, no need for that these days. I have multiport chargers that have all or some of their ports that are QC 2.0. Even battery packs with QC ports.

Ok, but what amperage was the charger with the 3hr charge time? Sounds like the phone can draw 2.4a from a non-turbo charger, so if your QC charger is at least 2.4a and the other one was less, that would account for the difference in charge time, while not necessarily supporting the QC standard.

It's a 2.0 charger. Battery icon doesn't show as charging at all. But I'm hoping someone can decipher this for me. I truly have no idea what this shows.

But it doesn't seem to be charging my phone at all?

Do you have a Moto Mod installed?

It looks like it's charging normally - no quick/fast charging - but still charging.

What's the output on the charger? You're just drawing standard USB output. Clearly not enough to keep pace with the battery.

This is the car charger and no I did not have the battery mod installed. Kind of wondering if I need to step up to 3.0 rated chargers?????

The car charger is one I had bought on sale for 5.00 off amazon. While it was connected to the car charger it went from 94% to 91%. It worked great on my turbo. I kind of like to have several chargers around just in case. I had planned to use my 2.0 rated chargers for around the house but they are not seeming to work.

Thank you for any help here. I appreciate it.

I guess I can get the amps for you if you are curious to how QC 2.0 works. Otherwise when I put it in the non QC port, it charges any device as fast as it can (other than QC or or turbo speeds), but when plugged into a QC port, it's super fast.

The charger is charging - the large number up top is the current rate of change for the battery. If it were losing power, everything would be orange, and there would be a negative sign in front of the number. It is kind of odd that it says "charge rate - none", and 590mA is a slow charge, but it's still going in a positive direction.

Here's a screenshot unplugged, using power.

    Here's plugged into a QC3 charger:

Here's plugged into the stock turbo charger:

If you're getting more than ~1500mA on Ampere (large number up top), I'd be very interested to know exactly what model charger you're using.

..actually - could you drain your battery a bit?

    Say down to 50%?

Good point - it may be throttling the charge speed for battery health.

I installed it, will let the battery drain a bit, then plug it in and check the app.

Charge Rate should show Turbo regardless of battery percentage.

As an example, I'm 97% on my Moto X Pure Edition and it's charging at 360 mA but I'm plugged into a TurboPower charger so it shows the Charge Rate as Turbo.

Obviously it won't show turbo on a QC charger, but the speed will be comparable to Turbo. And the closer to 100% it does slow down.

Taken from description on how quick charging works:

Also, note that while charging speed is relatively stable from 0% to 70%, it gets progressively slower. For instance, it takes considerably more time to go from 90% to 100% than from 0% to 10%.

Let it get to 84% and it was doing max 1330. I am sure it would get higher if I let it drain further.

There's rapidly, and then there's barely at all. At .59A it's like being plugged into a PC USB.

If it supported QC 2.0, Ampere would show "Turbo".
