Play music while recording video?

I just got my Moto Z Force, and I can't figure out how to make my music continue playing when I try to record a video? I've never had this problem with any other phone, always using the app Rocket Player. The music will be playing, then as soon as I hit record in the stock camera app it stops playing, then starts right up again when I stop recording the video. Any fixes?? Or do I just need a different music app??

I think it's related to the camera app itself not the player.
