I did. It was a little work, but doable. I was due for an upgrade, so if I failed I could just go get a Z3. I used the ifixit video, and ordered the tape they recommended. I bought the most OEM looking battery I could find, and a large tool kit with way more stuff than I would ever need (but only cost $20). Trickiest part was heating the glass top and bottom to remove them without breaking. I used a $9 heat gun from Harbor Freight. Battery life has been crazy good since replacing it (I had forgotten how good it was when new!).
