It's interesting they used an adapter for the headphone jack.

I don't know if there are any USB-C native headphones out there. I've only heard of Lightning-native (iPhone) ones. Without the adapter, many people would be out of luck.

That's the goal right? USB-C allows for the 3.5mm port to go away.

But why should 3.5mm port go away? Is there something wrong with it?

It impedes how thin a device can get. However, if the camera hardware is about as thick as the headphone jack, there is no reason to get rid of it.

Nope. But Apple is rumored to be doing away with it in the next iPhone, and where Apple goes many follow.

I get that. I was pointing out how they are adopting the multiple use case for the USB C port.

Multiuse doesn't help if simultaneous multiuse is unavailable.

What if one wants to use a DAC with an OTG adapter while using headphones?

Anyone know if the microSD can be used for Android's adaptable storage, or is Lenovo locking that out like Samsung and LG do?

But i don't like thin phones. They slip out of the hand and crash on the floor. I like em thick and sturdy. Any other advantages of usb c? I heard that usb c can be used for both charging and headphones so you don't need two separate holes.

The other problem will be cases. Separate cases will be needed if one has just the device or if he/she has any of the mods.

I agree. With the device being so thin, battery capacity goes out the window.

I also find thin phones too difficult to hold.

I also want a separate headphone jack and charging port so I can use headphones while charging the device.

You all can pretty much be guaranteed that a MotoMod which includes a 3.5mm headphone jack is forthcoming. I'm actually pretty surprised that the first battery packs don't include this but you can count on future packs including it.

Does anyone know if Z Droid is any different spec wise from Z (non-Droid "Edition")?

Is there a leak of a Moto Mod with a 3.5mm headphone jack that I missed?

^I don't believe so, just reasonable speculation. The battery mods can easily add some other functionality like a kickstand or headphone jack.
