Hi,

I bought Moto Z in June. Right now in August I just noticed burn in on-screen buttons. Got lighter stripe on the bottom and top of the screen, as those are usually black for notification bar and buttons. It's visible on white background but also while playing games, watching videos etc. Not super intense, but I did notice it when launching some full-screen app.

I would consider myself heavy user (maybe 3-4 hours daily average, to some degree replacing my broken laptop) but never expected a burn-in that fast. My brightness usually stays low.

Is this normal? I got this brand new off german Amazon for a very low price, but if that's AMOLED standard, then I 'll go for V20 from aliexpress and sell this thing. Sure, no real warranty and could get +30% price due to customs & VAT (randomly applied), bootloop issues could strike, but I think it's still better than this? Like, Hi-Fi audio, wide angle lens, removable battery, no burn-in...

Someone could say take better care of the phone, use it less, quickly turn my screen off, hide on-screen buttons - but then, why would I buy it? To have a pretty expensive piece of metal on my desk? It's supposed to do it's job, if AMOLED is so fragile maybe it shouldn't be used in pricey piece of electronics I buy for longer then a couple of months?

That is not normal, burn in does happen, but usually takes much longer.

Personally never had it happen to me, but I've seen it in person numerous times.

Attached some pictures (white screen, blue screen, some content).

It's a bit easier to see in real life, I guess it's dynamic range thing, cameras won't reproduce slight differences well enough. I'll try contacting motorola about it and then probably Amazon.

It's the first time I saw this, and I would expect this to be more gradual, slow, over-time process. If you asked me 2 days ago if I have any burn in issues I would say there are none.

So... maybe it's some kind of display malfunction causing it to deteriorate quickly? Anyone ever heard of such a thing?
