Why won't my phone turn on but is flashing

My moto z play has a black screen but the catamaran is flashing white led

Welcome to Android Central! Catamaran? Do you mean the camera LED flash, or the notification LED?

Let it charge on a wall outlet undisturbed for at least 6 hours. Then press and hold Power for 20 seconds. Does anything happen? If not, then the battery might have failed -- bring it to a repair shop.
