Laptop wired connection defaults to charging

Previous Android phones I've had featured a menu option that let you control what happens by default when you connect your phone to a laptop using a cable. I don't see any such meu option in the Settings on my Moto Z Force Droid. When I connect it to a laptop, it defaults to charging. When I want to transfer files, I have to go into the pull down notifications menu to change the setting from the default to file transfer.

Does this phone have a setting to control the default? I'm getting tired of having to do this every time I want to transfer files.

I'm using Android version 7.0 by the way.

When you plug in pull down from the top of your screen and you'll see usb options. It changed, I think with 6.0 to default to charge and you have to select each time you use usb.
