Anyone not want to upgrade?

I bought my Moto Z Force when it first came out 2 1/2 years ago and I just don;t see the point in paying to upgrade. I bought a new case and screen protector, which are really cheap now, and I'm just going to see how much I can make it go. I used to upgrade when the battery died, but mine seems to be doing fine. I just looked yesterday and I still get about 3 1/2 hours of screen on time. Anyone else in the same boat?

My Z Force battery went belly up with the 8.0 Oreo update. So I bought a Z2 Force. I really liked the Z Force, just didn't feel like dealing with the issues that Oreo introduced. It's now packed away as a family spare. Buy my old Z Play is still running strong. I like the whole Z series of phones. Good luck with yours, if it's still working fine then there is no reason to get rid of it yet.

I loved my z force but the battery was crap after two years. It still works well and is used as a streaming device with the extra battery mod... But it's not really practical to carry that way.

I feel the mods were an ok idea just not implemented well (and crazy expensive) and when the opportunity came i stepped away from the platform.

I would have upgraded to the z2-Force (actually my Wife has since picked up the z2-f), but I could not justify the extra price for the same screen and in imho a worse camera (I am a firm believer in OIS) that has even lower resolution. And lets face it, the Z3 is a far inferior device compared to the Z-f and Z2-f. Now that there are renders of a z4-play, lets see if they put out a "force" edition of the z4, with a respectable high res screen and good camera. So for now, I'm in a place where the z-f works just fine, so no reason to bother upgrading it. But if the Z4-Force (if one even gets made, c'mon Moto/Verizon!) goes back to it's roots, I'll probably just upgrade then.

I upgraded from my Z Force Droid to a Z3 on Black Friday for $120. I had just received a refurbished Z Force Droid because my battery died so it is still like a new phone.

I love the Z3 with the exception of not being shatter shield and not Daydream compatible but it performs better than the new Z Force.

Would I have upgraded if not for the $120 price, probably not.

I have 4 moto mods, none purchased anywhere near full price, and I use all of them.

Still happy with mine. I waited until I was eligible for an upgrade, then installed a new battery myself. I figured if I broke it, I'd grab a Z3. With the new battery I see no reason to upgrade. This is the first phone I've had survive this long as well, thanks to the Shattershield screen (always covered with tempered glass screen protector). And way higher resolution (535ppi) than many newer phones. Now if they come out with a Z4 Force Edition, then I might have to reconsider that upgrade.

Just did the final payment on my Z Force last month. It's still running great although the battery is losing some capacity. I offset that by using the Incipio Battery Mod. No plans to update anytime soon unless the phone has a big hardware failure.

Also the wife has a Z Play. She paid that off a couple months ago. She loves the phone and it still has phenomenal battery life, so she isn't looking to get a new phone either.

I have 2 more months for it to be paid off (got it half off 2 yrs ago) and it does all that I need a phone to do. Only thing is the battery is getting noticeably weaker. I don't know if I should get a battery mod or pay someone to change the battery for me (I'm not tech savvy).

It's too bad you guys we're paying attention to the Verizon site over Thanksgiving. For some reason I was though I really didn't have any motivation to upgrade since I had just received a Verizon refurbed Z Force Droid from their warranty dept but I just couldn't pass up the Z3 for 5 bucks a month.

Even at 10 bucks a month now the Z3 is a great buy and its battery is better than the Z Force Droid ever was. No Shattershield but everything else just works great, fast and all day plus.

If you don't do the battery replacement yourself I'm guessing you will spend $100 to have it done.

I'm surprised the average battery life seems to be so low... I've often wondered if some of these companies are purposely putting in low quality batteries now that they've suckered us into accepting sealed phones. The ability to force us to keep buying new phones more frequently has been dropped in their laps...... and most businesses will never let an opportunity like that slide by.

We have a house full of $50 Kindles.....of varying ages all the way up to 8 or more years old, horribly abused battery wise, and they still work great, yet modern expensive flagship smartphones can barely make it 2 years on a battery? Things that make you go hmm...
