Impressive but the screen is too small for me. Like the concept of
the mods but the only thing I'm interested in is the projector. Battery is a no go. Anemic.

Love what they're doing just wish I could be more enthusiastic about the actual product. Want as many viable competitors e/Samsung as possible.

Small battery, no real water protection, no headphone jack and an $800 price tag. Disappointed to say the least.

Postscript: the weight is 143 g while the S8 is 173. Not a hugh difference. I imagine with certain mods we're talking a couple of pounds (exaggeration). I personally don't mind the extra heft and weight but I expect alot of consumers will.

This is a typo. The camera is a dual lens with 12 MP on both lenses.

Unfortunately, the lack of optical image stabilization is not a typo.

I believe the rear camera is Sony IMX 386 (12 MP, 1/2.9" RGB and Monochrome sensors, 1.25µm pixel size)

Without OIS they better have awesome EIS like the Pixels do. It will need better processing overall to compete with other flagship phones.

isn't the Sony IMX 386 the same camera that is in the Pixel that everyone loveS?
It is a different sensor. Pixel uses a 378 which uses a larger sensor and has larger pixels. Plus the Pixel camera has outstanding processing. We'll see how the Z2 Force does. I think the Z Force 2016 camera, while not the best, is very good at least.

to be clear, I know jack about cameras. I had the Z Force, and i actually wasn't crazy about it. I liked the V20 and S8+ better, but at the time, the Z Force scored very high on DXO (this was before everyone hated them due to One Plus):

https://www.digitaltrends.com/photography/dxomark-moto-z-force/

DxOMark gave the Moto Z Force’s camera an overall score of 87, which is one point behind both the HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. That also puts the Moto Z Force in line with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and Sony Experia Z5, all receiving the same score. That’s followed by the LG G5, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and Samsung S6 Edge at 86. Apple’s current flagship the iPhone 6S sits at 84 with four other cameras.

The projector is not that great.
