How to unlock D2G if you are not a Verizon Customer ?

Have this D2G that I bought in the US, but it was never activated on the Verizon Network, want to unlock it and use it in India on the GSM networks here. How can I unlock the phone to achieve this ?

When you get there go to a phone store, usually one in the airport, and buy a local companies CIM. While there ask them to program the phone for you. They should be able to get everything worked out. At that point you just pay them for their service or buy prepaid time. Gl

I have a local SIM from India, but when I put it in the phone it asks me for an unlock code which I do not have.
How to get that code, so that I can start using the phone ?

If a local store can't unlock or reprogram the phone for you there are a few programs out there to unlock the sim.

Starting on page 10 they begin talking about different ways to do this. turbosim among others.
