Can you SBF an unrooted D2 stuck in D2.37 Bootloader?

Some how, my wife dropped her unrooted Droid 2 into the toilet! The phone will boot into the moto icon, then jump into the D2.37 Bootloader screen. It also says the battery is OK and to connect USB for programing. I'm wondering if I'd be able to SBF the phone with 2.3.20 (I believe this is the latest release, I'm using a rooted DX so don't know much about the D2) and fix it? As mentioned above, the phone is unrooted and should be on the latest build. Thanks guys, I really don't want to pay the insurance charge if this is fixable at home.

I tried an sbf, and was unsuccessful. Looks like I have to take a trip to the Verizon store tomorrow :/ luckily her water damage sticker is A-OK, so hopefully that will work in our favor.

the 2.3.20 SBF sould work if there isn't hardware damage. i'd try it a couple of times. sometimes RSDLite doesnt work completely.
