Keyboard Problems

I downloaded both betterkeyboard and swift for my droid 2. They were working great until yesterday when they stopped working and my phone switched back to regular keyboard. Any clues or ideas?

just double checking. did you hold down on any text box, select "input method," and choose the keyboard you want already?

Already selected it as my main one. When I press the screen lock button to lock the screen and unlock it, it reverts back to the original one. I have already removed the battery (no luck), uninstalled and reinstalled swift key (again no luck) and uninstalled a couple of other apps, thinking that maybe they were affecting it (again without luck)
