Custom Ringtones

For the life of me I can't get my custom mp3 ringtones to show in the sound settings. I've tried putting them in /sdcard/Ringtones, /sdcard/media/ringtones, and /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones. I've rebooted each time. They still won't show.

Any ideas?

not sure if its the same but my S4 you can from your ringotown picker screen at the bottom actually click an add button to add sounds a way cool feature but not sure if its just on samsung..

yeah i think your right i know on my rooted gn i used astro to move files around from music player to ringtone folder have you tried that?

Probably need to clear defaults and then select media (or whatever) instead of the stock selections of tones.

Yes. Put them in /ringtones folders somewhere in /storage/emulated/0, not /sdcard. Even though the mapping looks the same, /sdcard seems to be a read-only mapping of /storage/emulated/0

I use Ringdroid.

It works very well. You can cut any part of am audio file. It has the option to save as a ringtone and automatically places with other ringtones. Very intuitive. Check it out.
