It definitely works. But it accomplishes the battery savings by shutting down systems while you're not using them. The more that's shut down, the more savings. Like those active notifications? Well, if you have JD set aggressively, you won't get any, because JD will shut off data while you're not using the phone. All of the systems need time to turn back on once you start using the phone again, of course, so it introduces some delay. It works, but overall, I found it to be not worth the inconvenience. And that was before I bought a phone that lasts 28 hours on heavy use.
