It just seems to use at least 5% of battery usage?

It helps if you use it right.

A lot of battery programs function by disabling data, only turning it on at scheduled intervals or screen wake up. You'd be better off installing the Snapdragon BatteryGuru app.

It definitely works. But it accomplishes the battery savings by shutting down systems while you're not using them. The more that's shut down, the more savings. Like those active notifications? Well, if you have JD set aggressively, you won't get any, because JD will shut off data while you're not using the phone. All of the systems need time to turn back on once you start using the phone again, of course, so it introduces some delay. It works, but overall, I found it to be not worth the inconvenience. And that was before I bought a phone that lasts 28 hours on heavy use.
