Outside photos taken at 1:30 afternoon. The one taken inside my car is of my vehicle mount for the Droid Maxx. It's one of the best vehicle mounted I've ever used.

Amazing. I spent 5 minutes messing around with the Snapseed app and look how well I was able to clean up the picture shot inside my car. The first one is the native picture. The second one is the enhanced. Really brings out the detail of the car mount.

Phone cameras have come a LONG way. A world of difference in just a few years. It's no wonder the market for point-and-shoot cameras is drying up... why bother?

Have you tried using a photo editing app (like Pixlr Express) to increase the color saturation. I think that would help you get the "warmer" look you're after.

I'm sorry but the Snapseed enhanced one is just an over sharpened picture to me. I'm certainly no expert and I hope i'm wrong. BTW: I don't want to spent 5 minutes messing around with the Snapseed app on every picture I take. The camera was a downside of the Maxx but not a deal breaker for me. I have gotten one update on my Maxx but don't know if it included the camera.
Last night I snapped three pictures form the same chair of my dogs in the same position. Sleeping dogs that did not move. All three are really different but seems to me they should be similar. Anyway it took about half a minute to take the three pictures and to me that was a better way to get an acceptable picture then enhancing one. I realize sometimes the subject isn't sleeping so you don't have time to take multiple pictures. Anyway haven't really had to Maxx Long enough to make a judgment on the camera. I have installed the Camera Zoom Fx app and it seems to do a little better.
