How long will the Droid Maxx be available for free at Verizon?

My friend needs a new phone, and the Maxx is perfect for them, but they are not available to go to the store (Yes they prefer the store) and get one. Does anyone know how long the device will be available for free with an upgrade.

My guess is until Moto announces their next set of phones and the current MAXX is dropped altogether. We're probably within a couple months of new devices being announced, so even though the MAXX is an excellent and competitive phone, it's been out long enough that it's "old" and being discounted pretty heavily.
