    What is the benefit of VoLTE? I already have the ability to call via LTE via Hangouts if I want to. I realize that I can make calls and switch them to video calls, but I can do that via Hangouts already. Is the ONLY benefit that I will now be able to do it using my VZW number rather than my GV number?

    I'm not sure what this means, but "high definition audio calling". I suppose what it means is that the audio quality will be much, much better than traditional cell or Hangouts over LTE.

    Personally, I don't care one bit. Cell calls are good enough for me.

    Advance calling 1.0 will be available for the Maxx/Ultra/and Mini on 10/17/14 according to Verizon service representative

    If it's going live for all on 10/17 then the soak test may be primarily to get feedback from the more experienced users, rather than a SW test.

    But it requires both devices to have advanced calling activated in order for it to work so I am not sure just how many people they can get feedback from. I checked with most people that I talk to and none of them have a phone with advanced calling.

    I'd have to get my wife to sign up for MFN and then agree to "do all this technical stuff." My employer is supposedly upgrading their VZW iPhone 4 to the iPhone 6, so I could talk to myself by phone rather than in person, I guess. Meanwhile, I may or may not have received some sort of electronic communication regarding this.

    I'm sure that if there is a soak test it's not to get feedback on VoLTE but to make sure that the update that is delivered doesn't cause problems (like the 4.4 update in December did.)
