I just got my wife this phone, it is running 2.2.1 and when I tell it to look for updates it says all up to date.. No update required. I know that GB is out I have even found where I could load this from the SD card but I really don't want to do that. I will if I have to. Just weird that this phone came to be brand new with 2.2.1 and it wont even update to GB..
Anyone have ideas why?

Try this go to settings>battery and data delivery>social applications and enable the checkbox for sync over wifi only. Sounds strange I know but after you enable that checkbox, go back to about phone and check system updates and see if you get anything now. Also, I'm not 100% that VZ is actually pushing the GB update OTA as I think initially it was just a soak test. If it still doesn't work then you can load the update manually.

They were pushing GB out to this device a few weeks ago but then discovered some bugs and pulled it.

Not sure when it will begin rolling out again, but I can't anticipate it being too long.
