rooted and gps not working

hey guy I finally joined the root fun and I love it. only problem is now my GPS can't find me on maps and navigation. I have bugless beast .4 froyo on my Droid now. I can't even uninstall the map app the try and reinstall. any ideas how to get the GPS working again. thanks

Keep in mind that Google Maps (or any GPS app for that matter) and your GPS receiver are 2 separate things. An app like GPS Status can be handy to see what's going on with your GPS receiver.

I suggest the following as standard procedure if GPS can't lock on. Start with the first and move on if the step doesn't help:

1. Turn GPS off and then on.
2. Power cycle the device.
3. Dial *228 and choose option 1 to activate.
