Hi Folks,

Have been rooted for a while and overclocking with SetCPU and usign Titanium to backup daily.

I have tried to upgrade ROMS but when I install 2.2.1, Ultimate Droid, or Cyanogenmod I seem to get stuck at the boot loop and end up restoring.

I have not done a wipe data/cache from ROM Manager when I do this as I am fearful of losing all my stuff!

If I wipe data/cache when I install will I get by this boot loop?
Will I be able to get back my old rom, data and applications from a restore after doing the wipe?

I appreciate the help.

And that's your problem. From what I understand, wiping data/cache is a necessary step. If you are worried about losing your stuff, that's what Titanium Backup is for.

So I can restore all my programs and databases from Titanium after I do:

- nandroid backup
- wipe data/cache
- load os
- load Kernel

Is thus the proper order of the steps?

Well pulled the trigger last night and did the wipe and install of UD2.

Simply phenomenal. Used the 1.2GHz kernel and the device is smoking fast.
