I am trying to root my old OG Droid and I'm having issues with it. It has Froyo 2.2.1 and Build FRG83D. I DLed Z4Root 1.3 and installed it with Astro. I then opened it up and attempted to do the permanent root and after a few minutes it just went back to the home screen and when i try to open it up again it says it has a problem opening the program. I don't have root access and it did not reset my phone when it was done. I even attempted to format my SD card, then do a complete system wipe and then try it again and it does the same thing. I even tried it on my Samsung Fascinate with DI09 and that doesn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks

With the 2.2.1 update on the Droid, Z4Root no longer works.

Super One Click is what I used to root.

It uses an ADB exploit that should be compatible with all phones. Some phones, mostly HTCs, will need a NAND unlcok for the root to stick after reboot. Consequently, Super One Click should also work on your Fascinate.
