Voice Mail Settings

The out of the box voice mail settings are crazy annoying to me, probably because I don't like change. Instead of the simplistic VM version that my son's mx pure has, mine shows a box at the bottom of the screen with rewind, play, and forward buttons. Is there a way to change this to a more basic one like on the mx pure?

The installed version of VM cannot be disabled it seems.

You can't disable Verizon's visual voicemail app, but you can change your voicemail settings in the phone app.

I installed Google Voice. I generally don't originate calls with it, but I like the voicemail service, free text transcription of my voicemail, and the Google Voice app.
