I'm going to do a factory data reset. Seems there is a new App data backup available with Marshmallow 6.0 that lets you store you App data using Google Drive (if the developers of the app followed API level 23 protocol)

After installing the latest two part OTA 6.0 push sent out a few days ago, I am plagued with reboots every 20+ minutes, even reboots out of safe mode and the cache cleared. Just wondering if I really want to save the App data if the App data could be flawed or corrupted? Or disable the APP data restore in the settings, then factory reset? It's probably even one of Verizon's Apps causing the issue, haha.

This App data back up/restore feature will be good for folks with lots of apps and associated data. Kind of like how Google backs up gaming data. I only have a few apps, so I can forgo the data restore if it means I have a better chance of avoiding importing a possible culprit causing the constant reboots.

Well, you can always try restoring with app data and see if that solves the reboot issue. If not, then do another FDR without restoring and then reinstall apps from the Play Store "my apps" list.

I'd want to make sure that any photos, videos, custom ringtones, that you have stored are backed up, though.

Check. Photos and videos were backed up to PC since I had them on a Transcend 64GB Ultimate 633x card. Then slow reformatted the card just to be sure it wasn't an issue causing the frequent re-boots.

Sure would be nice if the Google Drive Data App backup really works without issues. I'll give it a try on 6.0 (24.14.12 verizon)

Dang it. Factory reset with App Data recovery thru Google Drive and it's still rebooting on its own WOW thanks Verizon. I would have never updated to 6 if I knew this was going to happen. Bummer. Its like the 6.0 update hosed some hardware (if possible)

Am I the only one with Droid Turbo II that reboots every 20 minutes or so after the latest update?

After confirming the reboots continued after the first factory reset overnight, I did it again without any App data backup, data restore or email accounts other than the required Gmail.

Now waiting to see if it continues to reboot and wondering if I should hold off updating the factory installed apps as the phone is prompting me that there are 36 awaiting updates?? I would assume that if the phone stabilizes without the updates to the factory Apps I would only update one at a time.

Yes, definitely I would be systematic in re-adding and updating apps. Restoring from a previous backup will generally restore whatever software issue was causing the original problem.

Well, I did not update any of the factory Apps and just left the Droid Turbo II phone exactly as it was factory reset with no user added APPs and low and behold the phone is still rebooting at random. So that would indicate that a factory APP is at fault as the phone was perfectly fine before the update to 6.0. Now I'll try and update the factory Apps and see if that helps.

This is really nasty that a Verizon push of Marshmallow 6.0 OTA to my phone renders it unusable at times. It will actually even reboot during a call, very embarrassing and unacceptable for a business phone user. Odd that I would be the only person having this issue.

Exactly how far and how fast do I have to throw this new Droid Turbo II phone before it shatters?
