How do I revert to the old version of my text message app on a droid turbo two?

Basicly Verizon updated my phone and changed things in ways I don't like. The worst is a text messaging app that I can't stand and can't get rid of. I loved the old one, it was simple, worked fine and I see no reason to change it. The new one asks permission for everything I do all the time and I can't uninstall it. All I can do is stop using text messages which is a stupid solution to a needless problem.
Honestly none of the changes I can see are good in this new version, but the loss of text messaging sucks.

Thanks,
Neil

If you can't uninstall it, it's a system app, so you'll have to root to get rid of it. And you can't "revert" on any computer - the new version replaces the old version, so the old version isn't there any more. You'll have to find am .apk file for the old version (which is why I back up all my apps - if the manufacturer messes it up, I can install an older version), or for any messaging app you like, and install it.
