Turning off the "Approach" Moto Action as well as the attentive display seems to have made all of the difference in the world for me. Also disable the always listening voice commands. Still have Moto Display activated for the notifications, and all seems good now. I'm getting 36-40 hours pretty consistently.
But those are some of the more helpful features on the phone. The idea that we should have to turn them off to get good battery life kinda sucks. I'd picture this being the battery life I'd get with the G3, which seems like a great phone. Only reason I returned the G2 last year was because I was drawn to the big battery of the Maxx.

Actually, I found the "approach" quite useless, and am embarrassed to use the "Voice" feature anytime there are other people around. Turning those two things I don't really use off went a long way on extending the already good battery life.

I like having the active notifications come on without me having to touch the phone or wait for it to breath. On my Maxx I never knew if I was between breaths and would always have to nudge the phone just to be sure. I don't entirely disagree on the always listening. I don't really use it around other people unless I'm sort of making a point to use it to show them. I'll use it at home sometimes though.

Active display/Approach is must have for me, especially coming from a BlackBerry with the power on gesture, having to press a button to turn on my phone is antiquated

Got my 48 hours, but didn't use my phone much to get it. About 20 minutes of Tune-In Radio, A very few calls, very few texts, bluetooth on but with no device connected, no wifi, IR and moto actions turned off though still had the "okay google now" voice whatever on.

Sorry for the overkill on screen shots, but I know people might ask, "what about such and such" and this is all I got - not sure how usefull it is.

Back to normal use today, internet, 30 minutes of googe map navigation,TuneIn radio. Down to 30% after 12 hours use. Oh well.

Two day ago battery sticks at 100%. Fixed that, yesterday a comfortable 23 hours till single digit percent with regular use, today, down to 40% after 8 hours of the same or less usage. Yay consistency.. Luckily even bad is good with a battery this big.

You don't need to have the approach setting on in order to not press the power button. When you have a notification, the active display will breath on and off and you can use it to turn the phone on. If you move your phone, it will also activate the display without using the sensor that's required to be on for the approach feature to work. I like the approach feature too, don't get me wrong, but it's not a prerequisite for turning your phone on without using the power button.

I having trouble even believing the battery life I am getting. For the last few months (since kitkat update) my old RAZR M couldn't even make it through a day with tons of stuff turned off and barely using it.

After reading here I figured I should go ahead and let it run down fairly low and then charge all the way up. Although not unanimous, many here seem to feel this helps the battery and "calibrates" the % full readings. The weekend seemed to be a good time for this, so.... on Saturday morning I unplugged my phone and decided I would let it just run down over the weekend. Turned out that didn't work out so well. I don't really use my phone that much on weekends. It's on and with me as I run errands and it is always checking my 4 email accounts (don't ask- there really is a reason!) 3 of those are gmail and 1 is IMAP for my work mail. I do periodically look at it to see what has come in, but I'm not using it that much. By Sunday night, I still had 58% battery. I decided since I'm not really too far from a charger on Mondays that I'd keep letting it go. I finally gave up last night (I knew I wouldn't have access to a charger all day today) with the battery at 28%. It was at 36% and I watched a few videos in an attempt to drive it down further! I finally gave up and just plugged it in. I'm quite certain it would still have had a charge by this morning (probably around 20% if the other 2 nights are anything to go by, so I could have gone 3 full days on a single charge!)

Here are the screen shots from just before I plugged it in. I'm certainly not complaining, but does anyone have any idea why the high wakelock time? Is it just from checking all the email?

Great battery life man. On the wakelock screen if you select each one the next screen gives you an option to google what it is. The first one is communication to your wireless network and the second is your phone communicating to a cell network. I would also be interested in what you have disabled or what settings you have set up. the screen time is low but you explained that and the talk time is 0. Those two things are the biggest battery drains for me.

I can believe two days and change with very little screen usage if all is well.
I was at 40% after 8 hours yesterday, 87% after 11 hours today.
Screen time.. Man I wish they'd stuck with a 1080p on this thing.

I can barely tell the difference between the 720p screen on my Maxx and the QHD on the Turbo. 1080 would have been PLENTY fine. Too bad there are screen resolution wars.

I use a G2 at work. gets very little talk usage, no internet usage, and about 20 incoming texts a day. Easily lasts through three 6 hour shifts. It's idle battery drain is insanely low

When I got the DT I pulled the SIM on my GS4, granted my screentime is under three hours just casually using it but it's like, a two day battery now all
    the sudden. Pretty funny.

Just got done with my first full day with the Turbo and this battery is a beast. No matter what phone I have had it has always died before the end of the day before me, but with the Turbo I don't see that being a problem. Even the Droid Razr Maxx I had a couple years ago would struggle making it through a day like I had today. Overall very impressed and one thing I know about Motorola after a couple days of use the battery will improve.

Someone had asked for more info on my setup on my phone (although I can't find it now so maybe I'm hallucinating!)

My WiFi advanced settings are shown below. I've pretty much left most of the setup "as is" - I haven't disabled any of the Moto features (ie, it turns on when I aproach it, it's always listening for my phrase, etc.). I did disable some of the bloatware: Amazon app suite, Kindle, Audible, Black hole, Bubbles, Caller Name ID, EMail (I use K9 for my non-gmail account), FamilyBase, Google Hindi, Korean & Pinyin, Google+, HP Print services, IMDb, Magic Smoke, Message+, Music Visualization Wallpapers, Phase Beam, & VZ Navigator.

If there are any other settings you are wondering about, just ask.
