I don't think it is, but handing off calls to CDMA when you lose LTE connectivity, rather than dropping calls, is a solution that Verizon really needs to adopt for VoLTE.

(By the way, I hate the abbreviation "AC" because I keep thinking that people are talking about the WiFi 802.11 AC standard that the Turbo supports.)
    Agreed

That brings another question. Are those that are having issues connected to 802.11 AC or a Wireless N router? I'm on an AC router and have no issues.

Just purely in the FWIW rumor department....

Just saw a post in a different forum from a user's conversation today with a level 2 Verizon tech. The Turbo owner says that after handling his issue he turned the conversation to the Lollipop update & the tech unequivocally said it's scheduled for June 1st -and additionally - will enable wifi calling. Please, don't shoot the messenger, only adding due to the intense interest in it here.

And according to someone on here, if a level 2 Verizon tech says it then it's Verizon stating it as FACT.

Man you guys are getting very touchy, and defensive. I Dont pretend to know what Verizon is thinking nor do I defend a huge corporation. Both seem silly and pointless. But I would like to comment on the release of new colors for the turbo (though I would swap for a gray one), maybe they will launch lollipop on the same release date, seems like a great way to sell more phones.

I wouldn't say I was defending the huge company, but I know what they're dealing with on a basic level, and I've had people who just don't understand why it's not already fixed and so on. If anything, I'm more concerned with the people who are doing the actual work. On one side you've got angry customers wanting to know why you're not done, and on the other side you've got angry employers wondering why it's not done. Neither of them usually has any idea of what it takes to make something like what you're doing happen, but they don't care, they just want it done. I myself have put in 70+ hour weeks on projects like that, and when it's done, most of the time you get a "don't know why it took so long". Just one of the reasons I don't do that anymore, because dealing with people in that scenario can make you hate people.

I agree - that does look legit (though the timing of the update, I think, will depend on finding software that works, I would think.) It's a shame that Verizon just can't come out and say this, officially.

I suppose this does give hope to Rob_B and others that 5.1 will improve VoLTE, but I still wouldn't count on that.

I noticed that and also noticed the Turbo is back on the landing page of Verizonwireless.com as the second item in the scrolling animations at the top of the page. At least they are paying some attention to what I still think is a great device in spite of no updates.

It's for all of the recent Moto devices, not just the Turbo, so I don't think it means anything for any OS updates. Saying that, it's a nice update for what it does, because I often don't like the exposure setting that the app uses automatically, even with the draggable exposure control on the screen.

I'm really curious about the original Google+ post being removed and the speed it happened. It was yanked down immediately for whatever reason.

Me too, one one hand it makes it sound legit. On the other hand that's a good way to make it SEEM real. The fact that other sites are posting articles on it also makes me think it could be for real. ?!?!

Supposedly the guy who posted was an engineer who works at Verizon and many of his comments within the post seemed to start something like "I shouldn't be saying this but" or "I'll get in trouble if I say more but" so I'm sure he was either asked to take it down or decided to take it down himself to avoid getting into trouble.

If I had to guess I'd say that the post was legit from the engineer's point of view but it's likely Verizon management had the post yanked. While everyone wants a hard date, if it's given and anything arises to cause a further delay it's a PR mess. IMHO, in this scenario Verizon sees providing no hard date as the lesser of 2 evils.

Sorry followers... I got in trouble for Turbo announcement... Need to keep my mouth shut from now on... Enjoy Verizon services and our great devices.
His other posts looks like he could be legit. https://plus.google.com/107679240815941684447/posts

If you look at one of the posts, he's in a Verizon YouTube testing lab video.

I'd say he's legit. We'll see if his info was in a few weeks. If they are talking mid-June there should be a soak test starting sometime between a couple of weeks from now and then.
