Why is Gmail draining my battery?

I haven't used my phone hardly at all today and was surprised when I looked at it after a call and saw it at 76%. Screen is always the #1 thing eating battery, but as you can see from the pic, Gmail is the king of the heap today. Anybody have any idea why this is? I haven't changed any settings since I originally set up the phone. Thanks.

I restarted my phone right after I posted so I don't know if that had an effect on these stats.

It won't mess with the stats till you re-charge (90% or higher) -- I would say try clearing the cache -- Something got stuck and made it hold the phone awake the whole time.
