I've messed around with the audio effects settings but I can't tell any difference in either the headphones or the phone speaker. I've tried the bass Booster and turned it on and off and there's no change in the sound. Anybody test this out at all?

It isn't noticeable through your phone's speakers. The only time I notice a difference is when I mess with it while I am connected to an external speaker/music player. That being said, some users have reported louder earpiece volume with the EQ disabled or off.
