I just wiped my Droid Maxx and realized that as I have upgraded from the Razr Mxx HD to the Droid Maxx to the Turbo now, I have just swapped out my 4G LTE SIM card each time and not used the new one that has come with the new phone at the time. So, the Maxx has the SIM card in it (not activated) that came with the Turbo

Is there any reason to use a newer Verizon SIM card if the Turbo isn't otherwise having issues? Are the 4G LTE SIMs essentially the same technologically now as they were 2-3 years ago?

I haven't had any issues with the Turbo to raise this question, but if it could work better no reason for it not to.

Just a stray thought on a Sunday morning. Thanks for any info.

IMHO if a SIM is over 2-3 years old it's a good idea to get a new one. Supposedly there are differences as SIMs have evolved and a recent SIM ensures best possible phone and data network performance.

Now, I don't know what the differences in SIMs are so don't ask me to explain the technical advantages of a new one. I can't say I've done tests or can quote any tests. But I've been given that advice a couple of times by tech support personnel and I swear I have noticed a difference.

I have a Sim card that I have had since my HTC Rezound. I have cut it from regular Sim to micro then now to nano. Has been working flawlessly. Scared they will mess with my UPD.

??? Why would getting a new SIM mess with UPD,?

And how do you know it's working flawlessly? Or IOW, how do you know that it couldn't work better? A new SIM is usually a freebie anyway.

Don't the new sims have the "blah blah blah whatever" for secure payment such as softcard or wallet?
