stuck voicemail notification icon Lollipop

so on kitkat i had the voicemail icon stuck. i use google voice, and i think this is just a standard verizon voicemail icon. i've checked and there are no new voicemails.

i figured when i upgraded to lollipop it would go away. well guess what, it didn't. so i did a factory reset, and now it's back.

i found that by deleting the data and wiping the cache on one of the 4 phone apps, i'm able to get rid of it, but then when i reset the device it comes back.


any help please!!!!

Maybe you have an old one from before you switched? What happens if you dial *vm? (Or, *86 - same thing.) is there a message there?

Well, are you sure that there are no unheard voice mails in Google Voice? (I have mine set to send me an email when I get a because the stupid app - the original voice app and now Hangouts - never notifies me until I open the app.)

google voice has none either. this is so frustrating. it's the stupid phone app doing it. under apps i have 4 phone apps. wtf.
