Getting a new Turbo after almost 2 years with htc m8

I took advantage of Verizon cyber Monday deal, $ 265 for a new droid turbo. My HTC one m8 has been decent, but battery problems and lag have set in. Is the turbo going to be a big step up from htc m8?

Also no experience with the M8 but my Turbo is now a year old and I still have no lag issues at all. I've very recently had issues with some Google services stopping but I doubt that's a phone issue. Even a year in, the battery is still a beast...

ACTUALLY, went to the Verizon store with a promo code they emailed me, and got a $200 trade in credit, so the turbo cost me $65 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
