Can't play downloaded music

I downloaded music from my computer onto my phone. I found the music files through Astro but when I click on one of the songs it says "couldn't play track you requested" Please help!

Your music should have been downloaded into a folder in your internal storage named "Music."

Once you've verified the audio files are in that folder, go to your app drawer and open Play Music. Tap on the three bar menu in the upper left corner, tap on Music Library, navigate the tabs at the top of the screen, ex. Artists, Albums, Songs, etc. Select a song and tap on it.

Alternatively, when you locate a song in Astro File Manager and tap on it, it should ask you which music player you want to use to play the song. Select a music player and it should play the song.

In Astro when I tap on it it says couldn't play track requested and I do not get the option of a music player. The songs are also not in Play Music.

Are your songs in the folder named Music on your phone?

what is the format of the muisc? try music player or VLC player..
