    If the Droid X has the TI Mobile Wireless LAN: WiLink 6.0, which has the capability for 802.11 N, does this mean it can be accessed via a custom ROM?

    i believe the x went through the wireless certification board with n onboard.

    But they can't announce that if it's not available yet. With Froyo it will be. Also, people get really caught up with N and the amount of bandwidth provided. Sorry, but you won't be pushing 100Mbps over your phone, so speed won't be an issue if you "just" have G.

    Where N does come into play here is it has a bit better range and is less prone for interference from other radio sources/electronics.
