OK folks... I have 4 days before my 30 day trial period for the Dinc expires. Do I return the Dinc and wait for the Droid X?? Someone please help me decide!!

Easy solution....

Go find an EVO and hol dit in your hand. Is it too big? If not, then your question is a no brainer IMO. The DROID X is better in every way (unless you like Sense UI & the joystick) than the DINC.....IMO

I am considering returning my Incredible for the X as well, and by the way you may have more than 4 days to return.I was told by a vzw rep that due to the delays of the Incredible you 60 days from the day you ordered the phone to return it.

what do you do or value most on you phone. if you value a big screen great overall processor and the bigger footprint isnt an issue with you go for it. if you love sense and the great form factor stick with the inc

I also considered this, but then I did what tallyho said, and held a evo. I found that it was too big for me, where as I love the size of the Inc.

I'm having the same problem with the evo vs X. From everything I've seen so far, it seems like the X is a better multimedia device than the evo. I'm so torn. I have a couple weeks to decide still though. hopefully someone will come out with a big evo vs. X side-by-side soon.

Like everyone else has said, size is really a major factor. Hold an EVO or HD2 and see if you don't mind the size. If you're good with it, go for the X. If you'd like a slimmer phone, stay with the DInc. I, personally, don't mind the size and am selling my DInc to get the X. Good luck!

I will check one out at the store before I even consider a switch and then I will wait until at least mid august when everyone has had a chance to find any issues with it and then if I want one I will sell my dinc and buy one.

Do you guys think we will have to check the droid x at the airport or will they let us carry it on?

I thought the EVO was way too big for me, but it's probably a matter of getting used to the size. I love my AMOLED on the Incredible, and it blows every LCD screen I've seen out of the water on its color depth.

I'm jealous of the X because I like all new things, but I think that will pass. I love my Incredible and in the end I'll be happy with it. I just wish I could "rent" the Droid X so I could mess with it for a few days. :)

I think what is making me want to switch from the DInc is the sense. It is constantly force closing and I am losing all my sms and mms. And with the amoled shortage I can't even get a new one to see if its just my phone or not

Excellent feedback folks! (Did I expect anything less?!? LOL) At first, I had the same thoughts about the screen size - it really is a huge deciding factor because it affects different areas. How the phone is held, how it fits in your pocket, do you increase the size with a case, etc.

I've held the Evo in my hand and I immediately though the device was a monster (mainly because I've only had small phones in the past and my hands are smallish - smell like cabbage... LOL) But after watching Phil's benchmark tests (http://www.androidcentral.com/motorola-droid-x-benchmark-tests), I can't believe how much smoother video is on the X. I'm guessing because it has it's own GPU, correct?

I only have a few small complaints about the Dinc thus far (all software related, I imagine)...

1. Navigation/scrolling. Coming from an iPhone 3G, I thought scrolling and navigation would be better and smoother - especially with the 1Ghz processor.

2. Gmail app is awful. No cut & paste! Are you kidding?!? (I think it's getting revamped in 2.2 though.)

3. Battery life. I've read some Evo users are seeing big improvements with Froyo. (I hope us Dinc users see the same!!)

Thoughts???

I have big hands and held the evo, damn that's a big phone. The x looks even bigger.I remember the first over the seat dvd player that I got my kids to shut them up in the car years ago out was like 6.1", I would never put that in my pocket.

Can anyone else confirm this? I would imagine it would apply to alot of people that got the D-INC at launch date. If more than 2 people can confirm this with a VZW Rep, I will believe it, and might take my D-INC back for the Moto X.....

I know im switching. But I have until the 15th to be within my 30 days so im OK :)

I went to the sprint store today and checked out the evo. It's definitely big... but not THAT big. I didn't think it was unreasonable. Plus the X doesn't look as fat as the evo.

I did notice something else though... The evo is really sluggish compared to my DINC.. hehe

idk how many people remember me from CB, but my "friend" says the X is sort of jittery as far as how it runs vs the incredible. i think the processor doesn't do very well at rendering screen changes while navigating screens/menus and that's what causes the jitter.

btw, my "friend" is one of the testers, so he's had plenty of hands on, real world time on both devices. i usually take his opinion as fact since he mostly aligns with how everyone in the world will use an android device, except he'll use it more than any two of us combined!

Maybe u friend was talking about a early X version! I have seen umpteen videos, and never seen what u speak of, or heard even 1 reviewer mention it....

no, cuz he's part of the last phase of testing before it's released. i'm presuming that the videos don't show the phone for use day after day, with multiple apps running, in a real world environment. that's something that a lot of these reviews lack: long term, real world use. also, fanbois write some of those reviews, just like the ones who review blackberry, winmo, iphone, etc...i've seen some pretty skewed reviews. in my experience, his review will almost align exactly with what i will see in a phone. but we'll see once it's available to the masses, you're right, this might not be the final OS that's being released. but it's definitely the final stages before release which should be soon (within or about 30 days from now)

not intending to be the end all reviewer, just take it for what its worth. he notices lag that isn't present on the incredible. that's all i'm saying...
