Notification Bar

Is there a way to turn off the viewing of an sms on the notification bar? If Im showing someone the phone and I recieve a txt the shows part of the message on the notification bar. I still want it to show that I have txt but I dont want it to show the message contents when it comes in. Anyway to disable this?

Not sure about that one. I think handcent app you can turn off showing the tex.

the text goes away after a second and then just shows that there is a message.

to get rid of it you need to switch to something like handcent or chomp, they both have privacy options that do what you want.

may be wrong, but i could have sworn i saw an option in the display settings that let you disable text in the notification bar (for everything, not just messages)
