Bluetooth handsfree for DX

I have read so much information that the handsfree feature would not be possible on a Android phone until the 2.2 Froyo was released but to my surprise after I paired my bluetooth with the DX it worked flawlessly. Has anyone noticed this or did I just read wrong..

It works flawlessly with the Microsoft Sync system in my car. Actually, it is the first phone (android or blackberry) to notify me of texts and read them to me.

Did you install something to have it read text messages or is there a setting for that, I haven't figured out that feature.

Since my car is equiped with Sync it is all automatic once I pair it with the car so I can't be much help with how it would work for other devices...sorry. Something different is going on now for this particular phone to work so well with bluetooth.

I cannot get mine to pair with SYNC, it goes back to the home screen when I try to enter the code... Going to reboot and try again tomorrow.
