Rooted Droid X2, need a wifi tethering app for Nook

I just successfully rooted my Droid X2 solely for the purpose of free wifi tethering. I have tried Barnacle, Adroid Wifi Tethering, Open Garden, etc; all of which successfully connect to my laptop. My Nook, however, will not recognize any tether app. It did recognize 1, but, when I went to connect on the Nook, Verizon popped up telling me I need to sign up for Mobile Hotspot.

From what I understand, tethering apps use Ad Hoc, which the Nook doesn't support. Is there any way I can bypass this and connect my Nook to my phone??

Sorry, not really sure. But, if you don't get an answer to this question here, I could see this being a question you could post in General Help. This doesn't necessarily seem like it's specific to the X2, and, you'll get a more knowledgeable pool there. Then again, you aren't supposed to cross post (just checked the forum rules). Maybe a mod can move this or something. Just seems like a General question and not an X2 specific one.
