Looks like they're planning on fixing some of them on 12/11 and some more of the issues on 1/22.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this too.

    Quick question...

Can an OTA update change the app storage size or change it so that it stores from the memory card?

most likely they would rather you did a non OTA for something like that, as it will probably be a version change in android that would allow it.

not to say they couldn't, but even if they did, personally i wouldn't trust OTA for a large update.

haha, why not release it now? is it normal to wait till after the 30 day return policy to release a update?

Hate to be a party pooper....

Proposed date of 12/11. Nothing set in stone

All this document really means is that once your 30 days is up, these issues will not qualify you for a replacment. This is more a cover yer butt type letter thats supposed to give customers a good feeling than anything else

But hey, at least vzw adknowledges a fix is going to be available, rather than head-in-sand approach. thats a huge step in the right direction!

I just wish I could uninstall it. I have no need for it, nor will I ever.

IMO, ALL apps should be optional.

I pray this isn't like the Storm (official) updates... One right out of the gate then nothing for MONTHS. Damn berry.

Do you think the update will help battery life?

Battery life will suck on any device that tries to update facebook, weather, twitter, rss feeds, sports, etc. every 5 minutes. I haven't had a problem with the droid and I've used it pretty hard through the day. My Storm definitely wouldn't take that abuse. Make sure you aren't taxing the system by constantly pinging for updates across all your apps if you are having battery problems.

If you read the internal document from BGR.com, it looks like there will be two updates for the droid. One targeted for Decemeber, and one targeted for January. Hopefully these target dates come true, I would hate for the Droid to be like the Storm 1 in terms of waiting for months for an update that just didn't cut it.

Yea hopefully they get pushed out on time. I found it annoying when I had my storm and vzw would take forever to approve the rght os update for its customers.. lightning better not strike twice!
