Bypass the activation screen?

Fed Ex just delivered my new D1, but it isn't activated. I have to wait until they turn off the old phone. I would like to play with/root it before I activate it. Can I bypass the "press here to activate your phone" screen?

I could just root it, but I would like to see what it looks like stock so I have a base line to compare to when it is rooted/ Rom'ed.

I got it!
At the green android screen, touch all four corners of the screen starting with the left upper, going clockwise.
