So like most of you I want the newest and latest device(s). I am loving my Droid to death and am damn glad I dumped my Blackberry Storm2. Well I have lurking several threads reading about the OTA update for the Droid, but I also see this HTC Incredible and Nexus One are both coming out. Is there any early talk of a Droid2 and what is the low down on these two devices? Lastly are any of you thinking of jumping to one of these devices once they come out?

I'm completely satisfied with my Droid and don't really see a real clear advantage to jumping to either of those once they are released. Especially since the Droid's getting Android 2.1... Besides, as far as i know neither of those have a physical keyboard, which puts the Droid at a huge advantage in my book.

Returning my Droid next week (before 30 days is up) to go back to my Blackberry until the N1 and/or Incredible is released. I like the Droid, but I think those devices have a leg up, and while I have the chance, I think it makes sense to upgrade. I also really don't care for the physical keyboard on the Droid, and with the e-mail issues I've been having, I'll be happy to try something different.

The Nexus 1 and the Incredible seem like great devices, but I wouldn't give up my Droid to those.... I wouldn't want to go BACKWARDS to device with slower processing speeds.

    The N1 & Incredible are under-clocked unfortunately.

Not sure how you figure that... The N1 and Incredible both have 1GHz processors (vs. the 550mHz proc on the Droid). The Incredible is underclocked to 768 or something (Still more than the Droid, and apparently it's still very fast) and I don't believe the N1 is underclocked at all. Even if it is, I've learned to go by raw numbers rather than anecdotal evidence on this stuff - faster is faster.

Actually Incredible isn't underclocked, it just has a slower Snapdragon processor (it comes in 3 varieties, apparently). The N1 may actually be slightly overclocked. It's been advertised as 1Ghz but the fastest snapdragon is supposedly like 966mhz or something.

The N1 is supposed to be available next week (through Google directly, not the stores) and Incredible not far behind, but we have no way to know for sure how far.

    Which one do you want?

Well the N1 is Googles flagship device and will get the newest software first and will probably be easiest to hack. Incredible may have a locked down boot loader like Milestone does and since it will have SenseUI you will have to wait longer for upgrades (Hero and Droid ERIS are still running 1.5!),but it will probably look nicer and have added functionality. Oh yeah and Incredible dump the trackball for a trackpad....

I'm not. I don't see enough of a change with these newer devices to make "upgrading" worthwhile IMO.

IMHO only cuz i dont like the brick like feel of the droid and SENSEless UI would i choose the incredible? The N1 has had some issuses so id take the droid over that but all in all dont make a choice cuz of processor claims. I have an eris an it is quit fast for its meager processor speed !

I don't believe there will be a Droid 2 anytime soon.. Motorola has their hands full I believe they are releasing 16 phones this year.

I don't see any reason to upgrade. Still the same size screens and its just 2.1. I'm about to have that, plus I have a keyboard. I feel like I have the upgrade out of the three devices. Moto Droid til the end....

My understanding is that the Droid processor is 600mhz, but comes from the factory underclocked at 550. Some custom kernels will allow you (once you have rooted) to overclock to 1.25. Reports from many is that the 800 mhz setting runs very stable, albeit a little warm.
