Hey, folks - new to the droid (1 week). I like the device a great deal and it's permanently replaced my iPhone 3gs.
That said, does anyone know the reason for why there's so many variations in sound quality/volume levels with a lot of the music apps that are out there?
It seems common knowledge that the Android platform doesn't have an EQ for audio. I don't consider this a dealbreaker if the sound quality is ok, as is certainly the case on the Droid. But I'm curious - what's the reason behind this "problem"?
Also, why do some applications seem louder than others and what's the limiting factor? Is it the headphone amp in the device itself or is it some kind of software limitation?
