I have had this quirky issue with my phone. On two occassions after I charged it and took it off charger and left it overnight it will have the flashing red light with a notice that the battery is very low in the morning. I can go all day playing games and getting online with my phone and never come close to killing the battery. Also there have been a couple of times where my phone seems to power off and wont go on until I pull the battery and reinstall. Then it comes on. The interesting thing is I could have been using it for a call and before I end the call the screen will go black and I can't get anything to happen even if I push the button on the top. I have to pull the battery out.

Sounds like you have a serious bug at this point wait for 2.1 or do a factory reset and restore your apps could help I think

Motorola sent me a new battery. I will use it for a while and see if that makes a difference. I read somewhere else that other people have had the same battery low indicator when the battery was not low.

same thing happened to me on Wednesday and Thursday. I didn't use it at all and it died but when i plugged it in to the charger it quickly went to about 60% within minutes. but it was ok today so I'm not sure whats up...

Most likely its the battery indicating it level incorrect

I would call it a "known issue" and any number of Droid owners (including me) have experienced it. Attaching it to a charger will restore it within a few minutes. The power hasn't actually dropped (I don't think), the reading is faulty. It will make your heart stop for a second when it happens, but ultimately it's not that big a deal.

yes I am having this issue more frequently now and my wife's droid is doing it too.. Motorola sent out one battery and said to call back to get a second one sent for the other phone.. ugh

The only thing I have noticed lately is, it seems to be taking longer than normal to go from 60% to 100% after this issue occurs...

Yea sometimes mine charges in an hour or so other times it takes a few hours. Sometimes it drains faster than others.
