Hey everyone,

I know some people are running 2.1 for the DROID, so I have two questions:

1. How is battery life? Any better than 2.0.1?

2. Does the quality of the camera improve? I know optics can't be changed via software, but surely something must have gotten better since 2.0.1 has a piss-poor camera.

Thanks!

Right now, without overclocking, my battery life is about 30-40% better. I unplugged at 7 am, and with some texting, a call, and some poor signal areas, i'm still at 80% at 1:30 pm. 2.0.1 for me would be about 60-70%.

The camera quality does not necessarily improve, although the focus is a little better. However, it is much, much faster booting, making it easier to use, and easier to get that second shot to correct the crappy first shot :p

Battery life appears to be the same, photo quality did not improve.

Hmm...I definitely need better battery life. Come on, Seidio! Release your slim extended batt!

Will 2.1 fix the process.android.email force close?

Does anyone know if the 2.1 update will fix the process.android.email force close issue? I just bought my droid and intend to use its email app for exchange email for my work. This morning I received the error and had to use the widely known "clear data" fix.

I really hope this fixes it, because otherwise I may have to return the phone. I can't be clearing data every week.

Ha ha! So cute, his/her first post is breaking news such as this....

-10 if they are wrong
+100 if they are right

I'm not joking, the rollout begins today 3/30/10 for the first 20,000 or so, by 4/1/10 you'll see more than 200,000 updated. :)

Perhaps the guys are afraid of "crying wolf" and posting this, but this is %100, its already begun, and yes I am certain.

We've had 30 people that are 100% certain over the months. As JorgeOlivera said, Pics or it didn't happen!

Be sure to keep your Droids battery life @ at lest %40 to ensure stable OTA update process, and @ least %20 if plugged into a wall charger... Dave, I expect a bump in rep. after you receive your Droid update. ;) Trust me.

I'm rooted, so I'll be out, but if its reported by other forum members today, I'll be sure to give you some rep points

For the first 20,000... considering that there are 1,000,000 of these phones floating around we won't likely see confirmation of this today. 200,000 by 4/1 is two days from now.
