Split sms?

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet and I'm sorry if it's a double post. I searched through and couldn't find anything about it. After so many characters you type in it converts the sms to mms.. Is there anyway to turn on split sms? I easily found it on my OV under messaging settings, but the MT doesn't seem to have that option. Could someone please answer my question or refer me to another thread. Thanks.

GoSMS or Handcent (superior to stock SMS app) both have options for that. Id say try one. Chomp SMS is also good but i havnt tried it.

Yeah, but I prefer the stock more than alternatives.

Oh i see. Well thats your problem right there then since the stock SMS app on this phone doesnt appear to have that option. Just because another phone (from a different manufacturer even) had that option doesnt mean this one will.
