I was rooted but when i went to 2.2 i lost root. I have root me unroot me on my computer that I used with 2.1. Has anyone tried this on 2.2 yet? Dont want to mess up the phone as it took forever to get back to a stock framework and get the phone back to stock 2.1 to then get to 2.2. Thanks for any help!
Head over to alldroid.org and look for the thread mentioning Froyo 2.2 with root, how to. Its an official post with full instructions on how to get root working on 2.2.
Note you will need full on root in 2.1 before you upgrade to 2.2. I had to sbf flash back to 2.1 because I didn't know you needed root prior to 2.2 -_-
Ya there are instructions everywhere. I unrooted on purpose, knowing it required a root to be rooted post 2.2 to keep it simple. But I think myself and tntdroid are curious if it is possible to root 2.2.
If you are not rooted and you have 2.2, there is no way to get rooted without flashing back to 2.1 first. In other words there is no way to root a 2.2 X, unless something changed in the last 12 hours.

sounds good. guess i get out the RSD and go back to 2.1 then root then move the su file with root explorer from my memory card to the xbin. Is that correct? Thank you for your help.
