Droid X Won't Root with z4root...

So my buddy got a new DX and I rebooted his phone, installed z4root, and it will not root. Just loops in the front screen and does nothing. Have tried rebooting, battery pull, install new program, etc...any advice?

Keep trying. It may take two or three times to gain root.

I've seen z4 run for over ten minutes before gaining root.

Un-install and re-install Z4. Before running Z4, do a reboot.

I rooted last night with Z4, turned on airplane mode and it took about 45 seconds.

My Droid X rooted in less than a minute using Z4root....Are you doing the permanent or temp root? I have seen problems when people use the temp root.

Un-install and re-install Z4. Before running Z4, do a reboot.

You have USB debugging enabled? Don't forget to uninstall superuser too. I've found that Z4 will fail to root if Superuser is still installed from a failed previous attempt.
