Android Central: Motorola drops WiFi only Xoom pricing to $499. The price is $449 until July 9 at Staples with a coupon.

This price now finally makes it somewhat competitive--especially with the coupon. You can get the Asus Transformer for $399 but its only 16GB as opposed to the Xoom which is 32GB. It's tempting, but not sure I want to take the plunge now with all the rumors of the Xoom2 and other, even cheaper tablets coming out. In 3-4 months, even this new price may seem expensive and it already feels like old technology. Still, might be a good stop gap measure to tide you over until the next Xoom hits.
